Hi there! I’m Brittney, and welcome to Exploring Healthy Foods!
During my last semester of my Nutritional Sciences degree, I started an Instagram account (Exploring Healthy Foods) to share my daily recipe creations! Soon after I graduated, I quickly learned the job market for Nutritional Sciences grads was slim. Working in a job that had nothing to do with what I went to school for was discouraging. However, I loved sharing recipes through Instagram as well as communicating with other health and foodie enthusiasts through social media. I then created this blog, where I share super easy, quick and healthy recipe ideas! I am all about easy & simple!
This blog has lead me to find another thing I am passionate about: food photography!
I love creating recipes, but I think my favourite part of recipe creation is styling a dish and then snapping tons of pictures of it! When lighting is on my side – it’s a perfect day!
I personally do not go by any food labels (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.). I enjoy eating a variety of foods including vegetables, some fruits, grains, plant-based proteins (tofu, quinoa, etc.) and more (including the occasional cupcake;)). I do include in each of my recipes if the recipe is vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or dairy-free because I know that is helpful when looking for specific recipes!
