I haven’t been posting on my blog as much as I would like to lately. If you follow my blog, then you’ll know I create food videos for Vista Magazine, and I’ve also started creating food videos for other food bloggers. I love shooting food videos and putting it all together during the editing process, which is definitely my favourite part! That being said, it can be time consuming depending on the video – leaving me with less time to share my own recipes and videos. However I am hoping the next couple weeks I will have a bit more time to share my recipes here. I am always snapping quick, iPhone photos and posting them on Instagram (@exploringhealthyfoods), so be sure to follow me there if you are not already!
Anyways I am happy to be sharing this Creamy Coconut Protein Smoothie with you all today! It’s loaded with protein, antioxidants, healthy fats and more. Personally, I like this smoothie for breakfast or post-workout. It contains a lot of good nutrients to either start your day or replenish after an intense workout.
- 2 bananas
- ½ cup ice
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Purica Wellness plant-based protein)
- ¼ cup almond butter
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ cup water
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs (you'll need more for topping!)
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until creamy consistency is reached.
- Pour into tall glass and top with cacao nibs!
Note: I lightly sprayed the bottom of each glass with coconut oil spray and added a small amount of cacao powder (turning the glass so the powder sticks to the coconut oil) to get the effect at the bottom of the glass.
