Happy Wednesday everyone! Today, I want to share with you another “What I ate Wednesday” post. If you’re new to these posts, head on over to Peas And Crayons blog to read all about WIAW posts and to link up your own blog post!
I started my day off with a Lara bar, pineapple and a big glass of water before heading to a Barre workout class. I have been loving Barre classes lately! It’s a mix of pilates, yoga and ballet and a great cardio workout. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a new workout class.
My neighbour gave me that red flower from his garden while I was outside taking photos, so sweet!
After class I headed home and made some lentil and vegetable soup, seriously delicious! It doesn’t look too great from the photo, but it was so warm and tasty after a workout. Not to mention packed with nutrients and protein that are essential after a good cardio workout.
Later in the day, I threw together this salad with kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, seeds, almonds, cashews and topped it with olive oil and lemon as dressing. Quick & easy!
I also toasted a whole grain pita and ate it with a side of hummus. {Hummus recipe here!}
This week I was also playing around with my camera as I am looking for a place in my house with good lighting. I have been liking the darker look lately but let me know what you think!
For dinner we cooked up some turkey sliders, which were amazing (see recipe below)! We also made some french fries by slicing potatoes into thin pieces, throwing them in a bag with grapeseed oil and a little bit of sea salt and shaking it up. Lay fries on a baking pan and pop them in the oven for about 10 minutes than flip them over for another 10 minutes. Once they are golden brown, they are ready to eat! Lastly, I made a side salad with spinach, carrots, cabbage, nuts and topped with an olive oil, red wine dressing. Delicious meal that can be made in 30 minutes!
Turkey Slider Recipe//
1 lbs lean ground turkey
3 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cajun seasoning
Sprinkled black pepper
Add all ingredients to bowl and mix together. Form about 5 small turkey sliders into round patties. Either BBQ or fry on stove with olive oil for about 25 minutes, flipping patties every 10 minutes. Once ready and no longer pink, enjoy with a whole grain bun!
My mouth is watering after writing up this post! haha Anyways, that’s about it for this weeks “What I ate Wednesday” post! Hope you all enjoyed it and be sure to link up your WIAW post here.
Thanks for reading!
