Roasted brussels sprouts make the perfect side to any dish because they are rich in nutrients, easy to make and very versatile. My new favorite way to make to roast them is with balsamic vinegar and sprinkling them with bread crumbs! The bread crumbs are optional but they give the dish a bit more of a crunch.
If you don’t have actual breadcrumbs, simply toast a piece of bread, let it cool and throw it into the blender and then you got breadcrumbs! Make sure the toast is completely cooled otherwise it will just turn into a sticky bread ball.
Nutrition
Brussels Sprouts are low in calories, and a great source of fibre, vitamin K, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin A, folate and potassium. Brussels Sprouts also have cholesterol-lowering properties when cooked certain ways, which helps the fibre bind easily to bile and then be exceeded. Brussels Sprouts are also a cruciferous vegetable, which means they have a high amount of glucosinolates {phytonutrients} that have lots of health benefits including cancer- preventing properties.
