A couple weeks ago I came home to a lovely box from Manitoba Harvest that had three new hemp protein powders. Chocolate, Vanilla Chai and Mixed Berry protein flavours are loaded with nutrients and include organic greens {which you would not know by tasting it!}. Today I will be sharing a very simple smoothie bowl recipe using the mixed berry protein powder. Smoothie bowls are just like regular smoothies, but thicker as you can eat them with a spoon. They make a great healthy breakfast, especially if you want to get back on track after the Easter weekend!
Not sure what hemp is? Check out the answer here.
Nutrition
This protein powder contains 15g of plant-based protein per serving {read more about protein here}. The main ingredient is their Hemp Pro 70 protein powder {their basic protein powder} and the addition of organic greens {spinach, kale and broccoli} and organic coconut sugar as a sweetener.
Each serving – 4 tbsp. {30g} contains the following:
Protein | 15g
Iron | 20%
Omega-6 | 2g
Omega-3 | 0.6g
Monosaturated | 0.5g
Calories | 130
I personally like these new protein flavours because they blend so easily with other ingredients. They have a natural flavour and do not have a chalky taste like some protein powders have. They are also fully vegan and contain no GMOs.
If you do purchase any of these be sure to store the protein in the refrigerator after opening to keep its freshness!
