I haven’t shared a smoothie recipe in a long time, mainly because I really like to make my Ginger Spinach Smoothie. But with the change in seasons, I have been switching it up by making thicker and creamier smoothies. This smoothie recipe is loaded with plant-based protein powder and gooey dates! It is a good meal replacement as it contains over 20 grams of protein! This recipe tastes great after an at home workout or a spin class! It also tastes really good when you need an afternoon pick-me-up!
As you can see by the photo, I am using a chocolate protein powder by Vega. I really like Vega protein powders because they are made with plant-based protein and some flavours can be purchase in a small packets. I believe I purchased this one from Vita Health although I have seen these smaller sizes at Superstore down the “health/organic” aisle.

Description
Loaded with protein, antioxidants and super sweet tasting! Enjoy after a good workout or for an afternoon pick-me up!
Ingredients
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 banana
- 5 dates, pitted
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 4 ice cubes
- Optional Toppings
- 1 tbsp walnuts
- 1 tsp pumpkin seeds
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to high speed blender and blend on high until thick and creamy consistency is reached.
- Pour into glass and top with optional toppings.
